Chuck Borg, Vice President of Business Development


Charles Borg is vice president of Business Development for Applied Process Technology, Inc. (Applied). Mr. Borg brings over 40 years of experience to the company, including 28 years with the Dow Chemical Corporation in a variety of domestic and international commerce and general management positions. Mr. Borg's experience launching a variety of businesses led to his engagement by Applied in 2001 to formulate a commercial strategy to launch HiPOx.

While at Dow, Borg held positions including General Sales Manager of the Rocky Mountain Region, General Manager of Lepetit-Iran and President of Dow Iran, EVP of Korea Pacific Chemical Corp producers of plastics and inorganic chemicals and President of Dow Trading LLC (Zurich) with offices in London, Midland, Mich., Sao Paulo, Moscow, Vienna, Romania and Hong Kong. At the conclusion of Mr. Borg's career at Dow he held the position of VP of Combustion Gas Separations Systems.

Mr. Borg has also created and directed a variety of businesses in the pharmaceutical, chemical, plastic industries. In 1993 Mr. Borg formed an international trading & consulting firm, TDX Impex LLC, San Francisco. His client list included the MJ Group of Bombay, Balli Group of London and Amigo International of London & Bombay. Engagements focused on guiding the international diversification of these firms' businesses.

In 1996 Borg joined with a small group of investors to acquire Nitec Inc. (a controlled atmosphere systems manufacturer). As a director and commercial manager of Nitec Inc. Mr. Borg guided a successful effort to form several joint ventures and international alliances.

Between 1996 and 1999, Nitec systems were successfully placed on board the vessels of OOCL, Lauritzen Lines, Transportes Mexicana and Chiquita's Great White Fleet. In 1998 Mr. Borg secured a first of kind contract for a sophisticated California laboratory and pilot system from the Dole Corporation for installation on the island of Mindanao, Philippines. Nitec Inc. was acquired by a group of private investors in 2000.

Mr. Borg earned his BS degree in Marketing from the University of San Francisco where he serves today as a mentor to the graduate program. In 1965, Mr. Borg completed his graduate studies towards an MS in Management Science from San Francisco State University.
