Applied Appoints Douglas A. Liddie as COO

PLEASANT HILL, CA - July 26, 2004 -APPLIED PROCESS TECHNOLOGY, INC. ("Applied") has appointed Douglas A. Liddie as its Chief Operating Officer effective May 1, 2004.

Mr. Liddie holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Before joining Applied, Mr. Liddie founded Environmental Navigator, Inc., an environmental management consulting firm specializing in the design and deployment of environmental management systems. He also served as President of The Gauntlett Group, LLC, an international environmental management and cost-accounting consulting firm. Other positions previously held by Mr. Liddie include Vice President of EMCOM, a publicly-held environmental engineering company headquartered in Silicon Valley, Chief Financial Officer of EMCON Associates, Inc., and a member of the Board of Directors of Columbia Analytical Services, Inc.

Applied Process Technology, Inc.
